Really appreciated that you joined my and distinct s server [24/7] zombie plague nightmare, as you said you don't like jetpack and all of that. The gamemode is made in a way that is pretty much balanced so everyone has a fair gameplay. VIP is also very limited so it won't ruin the fun, doesn't have any extra items that players cannot get and all that. The jetpack is also very very limited ammount of time when you fly with it and it recovers pretty hard. Would love for you to try one more time and see the changes we did ;)

I had a glimpse of some Argentinian servers (since that's where I live) and honestly there really wasn't anything that bad. There were all the QoL mods you mentioned plus some skins and custom player models and I definitely see the issue with not knowing each player's team from the latter, especially if a significant portion of the players are using them, but at the end of the day I was going there for some casual fun. As long as the pay-to-win doesn't go far beyond custom player models it's tolerable to me, plus some custom player models and the attempts to recreate modern CS stuff was just funny and interesting to me as well. The people weren't too bad either, I found them similar to a casual CS2 lobby.

What are the other giant like maps in cs 1.6? Because I do remember two others like de_rats One was a living room, with a toy train moving thru the maps The other was like rats v2 with shelves, so basically you could only awp in it hahah there where shelves for the ct side as well for the T side I just dont remember their names, I was like 8 when started to play cs 1.6 and only played maps picked by my friends, I was to dumb at the time to know how a pc game worked back then hahahaha

I prefer css simply because it’s not as competitive as the others. Cs 1.6 has been around for so long so the players are very good and take it very seriously and the same is true for cs2 it’s just too serious. Css is the middle ground of the two with it being not that competitive and easy to pick up and play. I also like how easy it is to mod css, I started out with 1.6 and modding it was very annoying because you actually had to replace files instead of just dragging and dropping.

If you played CS2 recently. Hostage mode is so garbage that IMO. Axing it for VIP would be great. Even if the VIP was an NPC like the hostage is now, but you as a CT escort and protect to a extraction point (tell it to stop, clear a zone, move forward). Could even use hostage maps already, just flip the spawn points. I think my idea would bring back life to 2 forgotten modes by bringing them together. And add a great game mode to CS2.

According to the statement of different servers having different versions; I remember playing on a server where the g3sg1 (banned T-side auto sniper on most servers anyway) had no movement inaccuracy even with scoped. Normally it only has no movement inaccuracy while unscoped. I think it was an older version of the game

I remember back in the days there were a lot of so called "non Steam 1.6" versions floating around for LAN party without internet access for everyone. They were numbered v1 to v22. Most prominent were v9, v19 and v21. You could easily tell v9 and v19 apart, because the score board of v19 had rounded corners.

In a competitive game. I don't need to say more. But skins are cool for the casuals, I guess... - Casual gamemodes in the most tryhard game to ever exist? Why? - etc. If the 1.6 esport scene had all the sponsor backing and viewership CS:GO did, we would still be watching 1.6 pro matches to this day and the level would be so so so far above what's currently possible in CS2. People don't even realize what could have been.

Thank you for reminding me of the fake servers. I had an idea to use games as a host for malware, like reverse shell and things like that. I believe the fake servers were rampant because of the way how the client treated downloads. It doesn't have a file type check and basically any server admin or the server itself can upload malware to the computer, mostly .asi scripts, because the GoldSrc engine can utilize them for various things, such as the improved input buffers for example. Then, these malicious .asi scripts can do pretty much whatever they were programmed to do. As for the config files, you can't do pretty much anything to save them. You have to set the configs to read-only. But, you'll lose the ability to save your settings, which is a great sacrifice when the server overwrites your config. Speaking of configs, they were used to punish cheaters when they wouldn't budge. For example, a such plugin can set the fps_max value to 1 on a client, making the experience much more unbearable. Also, it can bind every key to "kill", when you press it, you'll kill yourself every time in the game. So, instead of banning a cheater, it made the experience as a non-cheater much better. Because running a server is a business. And you'll lose players and money as a result of cheating. But, in this day and age, cheating is much more rampant, but at the same time, anti-cheats gotten better. Especially with kernel-level anti-cheats, which I hate. It's basically a root-kit that can do whatever it wants. DDOSing, hiding malware, residential proxies, things like that. But, we have to make sacrifices for our own comfort, not security.

I fell you man. It's hard to distinguish between those two. Even tho I have played CS 1.6 more and it was my first CS, I still preferr CSS... The biggest reason I preferr CSS over Cs 1.6 is physics and being able to make your crosshair beautiful and steady ALL THE TIME instead of having to bear the trouble of looking at that HYPER dynamic crosshair which DOES NOT ALLOW YOU TO SHOOT PROPERLY. I have always hated that in CS 1.6 so I preferr CSS over all, it has more mods and is, just better...

C4 matrix happens because the game tries to play C4 "reload" animation which does not exist

Trying to find perfect balance between T and CT deff kills all the fun. I cannot understand why an unbalanced map is not played into competitions... It's not like the teams would not switch...
